EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
EMDR therapy was created by Francine Shapiro, in 1989. Since then, EMDR has developed and evolved through the contributions of therapists and researchers all over the world. Today, EMDR is set to standardized protocols that deeply accelerate healing from past trauma. The process involves bilateral stimulation of the brain, either by moving the eyes side to side while following a light or stimulus, or by tone or touch. In working with clients, EMDR is used when trauma or limiting beliefs are impeding health or well being. This process is remarkable as it produces rapid changes, sometimes even in the course of one session!
EMDR helps us to “re-process“ difficult or repeated events that create negative belief systems about ourselves such as “I am not worthy “ or “I don’t belong”. Through the re-processing, you will be able to shift negative beliefs, into embodying positive belief systems such as “I am worthy” or “I belong”
